Analysis of the evolution of the context (constraints, challenges, and opportunities) The activity organized by the Council of Sub-Saharan Migrants in Morocco, with financial support from Oxfam, takes place in a context marked by the exit from the Covid-19 pandemic, which severely affected the migrant population in Morocco due to travel restrictions, the economic and social precariousness of migrants resulting from job losses, and the economic gloom at the national level. Associations have been unable, in almost their entirety, to fulfill their missions of humanitarian assistance, support, and awareness-raising for migrants due to lockdowns and severe restrictions on intercity travel. The majority of migrants have faced difficulties in renewing their residence permits, which has exacerbated their precariousness. It is in this context of a difficult post-Covid recovery that migrant associations are trying to reposition themselves, redefine their priorities, tackle challenges, and seize the opportunities available to them while remaining optimistic about the overall improvement of the context. The activity organized by the Council of Sub-Saharan Migrants in Morocco (CMSM) fits into this framework and aims to contribute to strengthening the capacities of the members of the beneficiary associations to meet the challenges of this new era that is emerging.

Objectives achieved and results obtained Please explain in this section how this project in general and this fund in particular have enabled your organization to:

Establish and/or improve

Establish and/or improve your institutional/organizational policies (internal governance, financial management, influence, communication, safeguarding, inclusion, etc.)

Establish and/or improve your institutional/organizational policies (internal governance, financial management, influence, communication, safeguarding, inclusion, etc.). The activity funded by this fund (the training sessions) has allowed beneficiaries, especially members of the CMSM, to become familiar with the management methods of the associative structure on a daily basis and to acquire the necessary techniques and tools to successfully carry out the mission of the association, both administratively, financially, and politically, and to achieve its objectives. This training, although short in terms of time, has enabled the association's leadership members to improve the management and governance of the association, to think in terms of objectives and strategic planning.

Improve your coordination skills

Improve your ability to coordinate with other stakeholders on the topic of migration;

Improve your ability to coordinate with other stakeholders on the topic of migration; This action was organized inclusively, through the integration of members from all the associations that make up the ASCOMS platform. This allowed association members to exchange ideas with other beneficiaries from different organizations within the platform on issues of common interest as well as the difficulties and challenges faced daily by their structures. 3. Conduct advocacy actions at the national or regional level; The various training modules provided during the three days of the activity enabled beneficiaries to think about common actions to be taken collaboratively in order to give them more weight, visibility, and impact. Some ideas emerged, and committees were formed to study the feasibility and relevance of actions to be taken together, especially on significant dates (March 8, December 18, June 20...) 4. Collaborate with other stakeholders to influence regional and national policies related to migration; The module on partnership development allowed beneficiaries to acquire techniques to identify actors and organizations likely to work together as partners for specific and/or sustainable actions, whether in advocacy, awareness-raising, or international support and solidarity. 5. Develop your (or allow others to develop their) knowledge about migration, a more respectful attitude towards rights and/or inclusive practices. The various debates and discussions that marked the three days of training allowed all beneficiaries to strengthen their knowledge in the field of migration and expand their vocabulary on the subject, as well as to become aware of recent developments in this area, particularly the legal instruments and events organized in recent years, as well as the new approaches adopted in the field, including the gender approach, the economic, social, and cultural rights of minorities, and environmental protection.
